Commercial projects include parking areas, foundations for retail complexes, loading docks, enclosures (for cardboard compactors, trash dumpsters, etc.) as well as self storage complexes and stand alone retail outlets. EarthworksThe natural complement to Langston’s concrete projects is the excavation and earthwork preparation for concrete work. Early in the company’s history, Mike insisted on maintaining exacting quality control standards over the excavations for his concrete projects and decided to do his own excavations. Now Langston Concrete engages in mass excavations, earthmoving and grading, site preparation and reclamation as well as large scale hydraulic projects. With a fleet of excavators, scrapers, heavy haul trucks and bulldozers, Langston Concrete can move mountains. Surface MiningA natural extension of the earthworks division, Langston Concrete began surface mining operations in 2007 with the opening phase of an industrial limestone quarry for a cement manufacturing plant. Expansion of the quarry (phase 2) added to Langston’s capabilities, and showcased our capabilities to the cement industry in Southern Colorado. With the addition of a Cedarapids mobile crushing and screening plant, Langston Concrete performs seasonal mining operations at a gypsum quarry. Mine reclamation operations at a mica mine have provided us with experience in mine operations from the beginning to the end of a surface mine’s life cycle. |
